Hi, my name is Dr. McEvoy, and I am an emergency veterinarian at TruVet. Emergency and critical care is my passion, and I am committed to providing the highest level of care to every patient and family I have the privilege to serve.

Outside of work, I enjoy riding my horses and spending time with my husband, son, and our dog Oliver.

Emergency and critical care is my passion. The intensity, the variety, and the immediate impact of emergency medicine — combined with the deep connection that forms when you support a family through a crisis — is what keeps me coming to work every day with purpose and dedication.
Why I Chose This Profession
Growing up with a veterinarian father and a childhood full of horses and livestock, this profession was always part of who I am. Emergency medicine in particular drew me in because of the opportunity to make a real difference in the moments that matter most.
Education
I attended the University of Delaware and completed my undergraduate degrees in chemistry and animal science. I then attended UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, earning my DVM. Following graduation, I completed a rotating internship at East Bay Veterinary Specialists to further my studies of veterinary medicine.
Professional Background
I grew up in Sonoma County riding horses, raising livestock, and learning the ropes of veterinary medicine from my veterinarian father. That early immersion in animal care shaped the clinician I am today. Before settling in California, I also spent time in Pennsylvania and Florida riding and training race horses, giving me a uniquely broad foundation in animal health.
Work History
After completing my internship at East Bay Veterinary Specialists, I spent time in both general practice and emergency care. I became the Medical Director of my family's general practice in Sonoma County before deciding to join TruVet to focus my work on emergency medicine — a return to my roots and my passion.
