Jordan Marcus

Emergency Veterinarian

DVM

Hi, my name is Dr. Marcus, and I am an emergency veterinarian at TruVet. Emergency and critical care is my passion, and I am proud to serve the community I grew up in right here in Sonoma County.

Personal Hobbies and Interests

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, camping, and snowboarding. I share my life in Glen Ellen with my wife Rachel, two dogs, three cats, and five chickens.

Favorite Part of My Job

Emergency and critical care is what drives me. The fast-paced nature of the work, the complexity of the cases, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference for pets and their families in their most urgent moments is what I love most about practising medicine.

Why I Chose This Profession

Growing up in Santa Rosa with a love of animals, a career in veterinary medicine always felt like the right path. Emergency medicine in particular drew me to the intensity and purpose it brings — and returning to practise in my hometown has made it all the more meaningful.

Education

I graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Animal Science in 2012, then went on to earn my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.

Professional Background

I was born and raised in Santa Rosa and have a deep connection to this community. My professional passion is emergency and critical care, and I bring that dedication to every shift at TruVet.

Work History

After graduating from veterinary school, I moved back to Santa Rosa with my wife Rachel — who is also a veterinarian — and have been practising in the Sonoma County area ever since. I currently live in Glen Ellen.
