Hi, my name is Vanessa Rivera, and I am a member of the team at TruVet Specialty & Emergency Hospital. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, you will find me swimming, hiking, paddle boarding, camping, sewing, reading, practicing hot yoga, or out on the water kayaking, often alongside my partner, Eamon. At home, my tabby cat Hercules keeps me company.
Favorite Part of My Job
Saving lives and witnessing patient recovery is the most inspiring part of this job for me. Watching patients thrive and seeing the happiness on an owner's face when their pet recovers never gets old. Advocating for animals who cannot verbally communicate their pain is something I believe in deeply.
Education
Currently, I am a student in the Veterinary Technician program at Santa Rosa Junior College.
Professional Background
Volunteering has been a meaningful part of my path, both at the humane society and in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation at the Marine Mammal Center, where I helped care for seals, sea lions, and other marine life.
Work History
My background spans customer service, restaurant serving, and even accounting, but my heart has always been with animals. During COVID, I worked in a general practice hospital, and I later interned at TruVet Specialty & Emergency Hospital before joining the team.
