Arthramid® Vet is a 2.5% polyacrylamide hydrogel that is injected directly into a dog’s joint to treat osteoarthritis. It is designed to provide a long-lasting, minimally invasive solution to improve joint function and comfort.
Once injected, Arthramid® Vet integrates into the synovial membrane (the lining of the joint). By becoming part of the joint lining, it helps reduce inflammation and improves the strength and elasticity of the tissue. Clinical benefits commonly last between one and two years.
Because the product works within the joint lining itself, it supports improved joint stability and cushioning while helping to decrease chronic inflammation associated with osteoarthritis.
Efficacy
Clinical studies and field experience show encouraging results:
- Over 80% of treated dogs demonstrate measurable improvement
- Many dogs regain a more normal gait with a noticeable reduction in lameness
- Approximately 63% of dogs are able to reduce or discontinue other pain medications following treatment

Indications and Procedure
Arthramid® Vet is most commonly used to treat osteoarthritis and can be administered to multiple joints during a single session. Frequently treated joints include:
- Elbows
- Hips
- Shoulders
Because the injection is placed directly into the joint space, sedation or general anesthesia is required to ensure precision and patient comfort.
Post-Treatment Care
After the procedure:
- Strict rest is recommended for the first 48 hours
- Controlled, low-impact exercise is gradually introduced over the following 2–4 weeks
Most dogs tolerate the injection very well. Side effects are uncommon, though mild and temporary discomfort at the injection site may occur in some cases.
